AUSTIN, Texas — A man has been sentenced for the 1980 murder of a 25-year-old University of Texas at Austin nursing student, according to Travis County court documents obtained by KVUE.
Deck Brewer Jr., 79, was sentenced to eight years in prison for the murder of Susan Wolfe. As part of a plea agreement, Brewer was convicted of murder, but a capital murder by terror threat charge was dropped.
Wolfe was abducted on the night of Jan. 9, 1980, while walking to a friend’s house on Franklin Avenue. A witness told investigators a 1970 Dodge Polara stopped and the driver got out, covered Wolfe’s head with a coat and forced her into the car.
