AUSTIN (KXAN) — Before the sun rose on Aug. 25, 2022, park workers getting ready to open Barton Springs Pool noticed bullet holes in a car sitting in the parking lot.
They called police, and when officers arrived, they found multiple spent shell casings and a blood trail leading from the car to the body of a young man who’d been shot and killed.
Within a day, detectives learned that young man was 27-year-old Camnik Campbell. But three years later, detectives say they still don’t know who killed Camnik Campbell.

On this episode of Unsolved: Central Texas, Avery Travis speaks to Detective Billy Pina and Detective Richard Spitler from the Austin Police Department and finds out why, despite several recent promising tips, they’re still in desperate need of someone to come forward with more information.
“I don’t care how small of a detail it is, if they can just get ahold of us and let us know, so we can work it,” Pina said. “We owe it to the family. We owe it to Camnik.”
