Travis County seeks eminent domain for landfill facing environmental concerns

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The Travis County Commissioners Court authorized the use of eminent domain for a closed landfill off U.S. Highway 290 that has been subject to environmental concerns in Tuesday’s meeting.

Travis County is currently facing lawsuits over the landfill from the State of Texas and Graham Development and Moo Moo Meadows, LLC—the developer and current landowner, which acquired the property in 2024.
