AUSTIN, Texas — City leaders announced on Wednesday night they will be delaying a vote to approve a new contract for Austin firefighters.
The city has asked the Austin Firefighters Association (AFA) to return to the bargaining table to address some concerns about the tentative agreement. Council members want to know if the union plans to launch a petition campaign to push the city to staff each fire engine with at least four firefighters.
