In a sobering incident reported by CBS Austin, a 20-year-old man has been left dead and another two injured after a black Ford Escape crashed into an Oncor utility truck in Georgetown on Sunday afternoon. The collision, which occurred around 2:30 p.m. near Westinghouse Road and Kelley Drive, also involved a secondary vehicle that was struck as the truck was pushed by the impact.
According to the Georgetown Police Department, the driver of the Ford Escape, identified as Alezander Cruz from Austin, was arrested under suspicion of intoxication. He now faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. KXAN reports that evidence at the scene indicated Cruz had signs of intoxication. The chaotic aftermath of the accident led to the confluence where one worker was able to avoid harm while his companions were not so fortunate.
