Boil water notice issued for all West Travis County PUA customers

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A boil water notice was issued for all West Travis County PUA customers Tuesday due to “turbidity” found in the filtered water. That means the water looks cloudy or opaque.

“This does not automatically mean there are harmful germs in the water, but it could mean the filters were not working as well as they should. When turbidity is too high, it can make it harder for the disinfection process to kill organisms that could make people sick,” West Travis County PUA said in the notice.

Due to an abundance of caution, the following areas are under the boil water advisory until further notice in Travis and Hays counties:

  • Travis County MUD #18
  • Travis County MUD #13
  • Travis County MUD #12
  • Portions of Travis County MUD #11
  • Crystal Mountain Water District
  • Lazy Nine MUDs 1A & 1B (Sweetwater)
  • Headwaters MUD
