Manor Police Recover Two Stolen Hyundai Elantras After Separate High-Speed Chases; Suspects Apprehended in Austin

Early Tuesday morning, Manor Police Department officials apprehended two individuals in separate incidents after car chases involving stolen Hyundai Elantras.

The initial encounter occurred when a Flock Safety Automated License Plate Reader notified officers of a stolen Hyundai Elantra from Austin entering Manor at about 1:54 a.m., CBS Austin reported, the pursuit commenced in the Shadowglen subdivision, culminating at the Tesla Gigafactory where the driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped on foot but was later arrested with assistance from Austin police K-9 and air support police was quoted as saying the individual, a 17-year-old from Austin, was known for similar incidents and had an outstanding warrant.

In a concurrent event reported by FOX 7 Austin, another stolen vehicle, also a Hyundai Elantra, triggered a Flock Safety alert at 2:02 a.m., leading officers on a chase into downtown Austin; this second car was also successfully retrieved, and the driver apprehended by authorities…
