AUSTIN (KXAN) — When the children and in-laws are at home, entertainment can often be on the menu. And while there are plenty of holiday performances to enjoy across Austin, local non-profit organizations are warning families to check where they buy their tickets.
Several arts organizations noticed a recent spike in scalpers targeting their patrons.
“When people experience ticket scalping, it’s really a cascade of negative effects,” Nick Barbieri, the chief marketing officer at the Paramount Theater, said “It’s not only taking money from the patron, but it’s also taking money, and from our case, a nonprofit and also the artist.”
