The same owners debut Rye Bunny in the Adams Morgan nook next spring
Everyone already knew that Adams Morgan’s Michelin-starred favorite Tail Up Goat was ultimately closing Saturday, December 20, but in a turn of events, the same owners will now retain the secluded real estate and turn it into a counter-service place that they say makes more sense in this economic climate. In April 2026, Rye Bunny (1827 Adams Mill Road) will open in the tucked-away space.
Chef Jon Sybert and his wife, Jill Tyler – alums of now-closed fine dining relics Komi and Little Serow – debuted Tail Up Goat in 2016, and went on to receive (and maintain) its star when the D.C. Michelin Guide was first announced in 2017.
“Ultimately, after 10 years, it became clear Tail Up Goat wasn’t financially sustainable under the model we believed in,” says Tyler. “We didn’t want to cut PTO, health insurance, or core values just to stay profitable.”…
