Austin police have arrested a fifth suspect in the January shooting that killed 19-year-old Victor Ekozeme and left another victim injured in what investigators say was a targeted ambush that began as a planned gun robbery and unfolded in minutes outside the Wildhorse Flats apartments near Manor.
Ekozeme was found fatally wounded on Jan. 24 after crashing a white sedan into a fence and ditch on Wildhorse Ranch Trail. A second man, 18-year-old Bill Nyanway, survived a gunshot wound to his hand and ran to a nearby school for help, according to a police news release from the time. Detectives said early on that the two teens appeared to have been targeted by a group who opened fire into their car as it attempted to flee.
Investigators tied 17-year-old Samuel Ray Johnson III to the shooting, a newly filed arrest affidavit shows. He was charged with murder early last week with a bond set at $100,000, according to court documents…
