AUSTIN, Texas — Two bystanders injured when Austin police opened fire on a crowded downtown street have filed lawsuits against the city, police department and a nightclub.
Nakole Curry, 24, was permanently blinded in her right eye and Julian Roque, 24, sustained permanent leg damage in the Dec. 16, 2023, shooting outside The Soho Lounge on Sixth Street, according to separate complaints filed in U.S. District Court.
