On Thursday afternoon, an incident involving a Del Valle ISD school bus carrying 32 students resulted in a crash with another vehicle in East Austin. As reported by CBS Austin, the collision took place in the 14400 block of Sandifer Street. The Austin Fire Department was quick to respond to the scene.
Following the crash, the Austin-Travis County EMS made sure to carefully evaluate all students aboard out of an abundance of caution, a necessary protocol to ensure their well-being. Despite the potential severity of such an incident, the district officials stated that “Parents of students on board have been notified,” and the bus, after a considerable delay, was able to continue “its route to drop off the remaining students” as mentioned in the statement obtained by CBS Austin.
