AUSTIN (Nexstar) — An Austin-based civil rights attorney warns a new tip line on the Texas Attorney General website could lead to illegal behavior as the state adapts to a new law meant to keep certain individuals out of the women’s restroom in government-owned buildings.
“This looks like the Texas Attorney General encouraging private citizens to go out and act as private potty police,” Austin Kaplan said. He’s talking about a new tip line the Texas Attorney General released this week that allows individuals to report possible violations of the newly implemented Texas Women’s Privacy Act.
