3 arrested after baby was found trapped in car while adults bar-hop on Sixth Street

AUSTIN, Texas — Three adults face felony charges after an 11-month-old boy was found trapped in a locked car while they allegedly spent hours at bars on Sixth Street, according to an arrest affidavit.

Gabrielle Aleman, 22, Isaiah Calvo, 25, and Jaslyn Tovar, 21, were arrested early on Dec. 15 and charged with child abandonment/endangerment with imminent danger of bodily injury or death.

Austin police found the infant around 1:25 a.m. after breaking into a Honda Accord parked near East Fifth Street and San Jacinto Street. The child was crying, pinned face-down between the vehicle’s seat and an unsecured car seat that had overturned. The temperature was 36 degrees…
