Hays County has been gripped by a string of violence after 21-year-old Abraham Herrera’s arrest in connection with three separate shootings, including an impasse with a SWAT team. Herrera faces a slew of charges, with incidents dating back to early November, according to FOX 7 Austin.
The first event transpired on November 3; deputies responded to a gunshot report in Kyle’s 500 block of Santa Fe Run, where they found a homeowner seriously injured after several rounds penetrated the dwelling. This randomly executed act initially left authorities without a suspect despite releasing an SUV image linked to the crime, as reported by FOX 7 Austin. Following this, on November 12, Herrera was encountered by deputies in Buda and subsequently retreated into a wooded field, prompting SWAT intervention, where drone imagery caught the non-injurious apprehension of Herrera and the seizing of an AR-15-style firearm along with ammunition.
