A trippy and futuristic experience for relaxation is headed to Central Texas in the next few years. Meow Wolf co-founder Corvas Brinkerhoff is planning to create the world’s first immersive spa that blends art, traditional bathing practices and science for transformative wellness.
Last year, Brinkerhoff first announced his plans for Submersive, which is slated to open the first part of the spa at an undisclosed Austin location in 2026. At the time, Brinkerhoff revealed the space would be fully finished by 2028, but new details from Submersive reveal Texans could be getting to dive into this unique aquatic experience sooner rather than later.
Brinkerhoff spent 15 years curating otherworldly experiences at Meow Wolf, an immersive art and entertainment company known for its interactive art installations across the U.S. He told Forbes he began to quietly envision a new wellness space after visiting over 75 of the world’s best spas, bathhouses and hot springs.
Inspired by those trips, Brinkerhoff brought together a group of world renowned artists, designers and neuroscientists to help shape Submersive, which is described as “a new kind of bathhouse that takes you into elevated states of being.” Early plans for Submersive include a 25,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor facility featuring immersive art, video projection, waterfalls, steam, lasers and AI technology…
