San Antonio beats Austin among toughest rental markets in Texas

Apartment hunting is never easy, but there are some U.S. markets that are much worse than others. The same is true in certain cities across the Lone Stare State.

RentCafe recently released a report on the most competitive rental markets across the country this year. To find out where it was the hardest to secure an apartment, RentCafe analyzed 139 of the largest U.S. markets.

The report ranked them based on “five key measures of rental competitiveness” including how long apartments stayed vacant, occupied rentals, how many renters competed for units, percentage of renters who renewed their leases and open apartment availability. Luckily for Texas, it’s still easier for Texans to find an apartment than it is for the typical renter elsewhere in the country…
