AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said a 38-year-old man was arrested in the deadly shooting of a Caldwell County deputy constable, who was working off-duty security in Austin this weekend.

Thomas Vences, 38, is facing six charges, including capital murder of a peace officer. As of Monday afternoon, he is in custody at the Travis County jail.
