Early Saturday, outside of Round Rock, a grim tragedy unfolded as two men were found dead from gunshot wounds. The residence located in the 8900 block of Brushy Gate Cove became a crime scene after a 911 call alerted authorities to the shooting at approximately 1:59 a.m., as reported by KXAN. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect, a minor, was initially barricaded in a bedroom before being taken into custody by SWAT officers.
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered the two victims and, after negotiations, apprehended the juvenile suspect. “There was no ongoing threat to the public, as the incident was limited to the residence. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident involving members of the residence,” the Sheriff’s Office conveyed through social media, according to KXAN. Meanwhile, specifics on the juvenile’s identity remain undisclosed due to legal protections. A friend of one of the victims was incredulous at the turn of events. Vijay Persaud told CBS Austin, “This was a total surprise,” he said, “I couldn’t believe it, that’s why I drove over.”
