The Vandegrift High School Legacies varsity dance team kicked off 2026 with a milestone performance at London’s New Years Day Parade, joining an international lineup that draws spectators from across the globe.
The Legacies were invited to perform in the parade through Spirit of America Productions, an organization they partnered with previously with during their appearance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2011. Marking a major milestone, the Legacies became the first high school group ever invited by Spirit of America Productions to participate in a London performance experience. Throughout the parade, the Legacies showcased their talent with a dynamic one-minute pom routine at five grandstands along the route, culminating in an energetic two-minute pom routine at the parade’s finale.
“It’s such a prestigious event, and to know our Legacies were recognized on an international level was incredibly validating,” said Holly Lyons, director of the Vandegrift Legacies dance team. “Personally, it’s a dream come true to see our dancers represent not just Vandegrift High School, but our entire community on a global stage.”…
