The state of Texas is full of history, because of course we all have to remember the Alamo right? The Lone Star State has plenty of historical buildings, some you might not even know about. This does include restaurants too!

Dirty Martin’s Place, A Standout In The City Of Austin

Back in the year 1926, Dirty Martin’s Place was opened. According to KXAN, it was brought to life by John Martin, originally called Martin’s KumBak. The beginnings weren’t glamorous to say the least.

As reported by KXAN, it began as a simple eatery with one grill, which was a flattop. The bar had eight stools, and yes, there was drive thru. The floors however, were nothing more than dirt. Thankfully, as times changed, so did the building.

Now, the eatery is still popular after, believe it or not, a century in business.

KXAN revealed that the University of Texas students have loved visiting the place. There are a lot reasons of course, whether it be for the food, or watching UT sports, which is helped by all the TVs they have. Regardless, Dirty’s general manager, Daniel Young said this to KXAN to sum it all up:

“We really have to thank the community for all the support we have had all these years.”…
