Cedar fever cure? Researchers developing vaccine for severe allergies

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Pop some Zyrtec, grab some tissues, and buckle up – a major cedar pollen spike is expected this weekend as a cold front blows into Austin. For many people in Central Texas, there is little to nothing you can do to fight this overwhelming allergen.

There is some hope on the way: a vaccine that could cure all allergies.

Researchers at Penn Medicine announced last year that their work on an mRNA vaccine, similar to the COVID-19 vaccine, had shown positive results in curing allergies.
