AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police said Monday morning that its officers are investigating a homicide in the 9800 block of Middle Fiskville Road.
APD’s on-call public information officer said at a 9 a.m. briefing that officers responded to the area around 6 a.m. Multiple 911 callers reported shots fired and medical calls for gun shot wound, according to the PIO.
Officers found a “white or Hispanic male” at the scene and attempted life-saving measures, according to the PIO; the man was pronounced dead at 6:31 a.m. Further information about the victim will be released after the department can notifying his next of kin, the PIO said.
The shooting follows hours after the city’s fourth homicide of the year, which happened Sunday night. The two deaths happened nearly a mile away from each other. APD currently doesn’t consider the two homicides to be connected, the PIO said…
