Austin takes legal action against Sixth Street bar for failing to curb criminal activity

AUSTIN, Texas — The City of Austin is taking legal steps to get a bar on Sixth Street to take action in preventing criminal activity.

The motion, obtained by CBS Austin, alleges that the bar Pour Choices at 401 E. Sixth St. has “failed to make reasonable efforts to abate criminal activity.”

The City alleges that APD has responded to “a multitude of serious crimes” at the bar, including assaults and physical altercations, obstruction of police investigations, serving alcohol to minors, drug possession and distribution, weapons violations, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication…
