Lexington Street closed after 20,400-pound metal coil fell onto the road in Manor

MANOR, Texas — The Manor Police Department is urging drivers Thursday to avoid part of Lexington Street after a 20,400-pound metal coil fell into the roadway.

Officials said the road will be closed while crews use a crane to move the tightly wound coil, which also suffered damage to its safety straps.

Eastbound U.S. 290 will also be closed during the removal process because the straps could fail which could cause the coil to spring unpredictably…
