Northwest Austin Teen Slaying Ends With 50-Year Prison Term For 20-Year-Old Gunman

In a Williamson County courtroom on Friday, 20-year-old Devin Vasquez-Pacheco was sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to the killing of 16-year-old Adrian Curiel. The case traces back to June 2022 in northwest Austin, when deputies responding to a crash in the 12600 block of Oro Valley Trail found Curiel and two others with gunshot wounds inside a wrecked vehicle.

Vasquez-Pacheco was charged with first-degree murder and was formally sentenced last Friday, according to KVUE. Court records and local coverage identify him as the final defendant in the case to receive a prison term.
