Freezing rain and sleet from a Texas winter storm swept into Central Texas on Saturday, coating roads, lawns and patios in a slick glaze that looked a lot like snow — at least from a distance.
While the wintry mix has moved out of the forecast, Austinites aren’t in the clear just yet. The coldest stretch of the storm is settling in, with temperatures expected to dip into the low 20s and wind chills hovering near zero. An extreme cold warning remains in effect through Monday afternoon.
