A Texas Barbecue Icon Launches Southern Comfort Food Restaurant

One of Texas’ most recognizable pitmasters is taking a new direction rooted in Southern comfort food and family style dining.

Scott Roberts, the longtime pitmaster of the legendary Salt Lick BBQ, is preparing to soon open Roxie’s, a new restaurant in Buda that trades brisket and sausage for fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and the kind of food that belongs on a family dinner table.

The restaurant, named after Roberts’ grandmother Roxanna, is deeply personal. Roxie’s is inspired by the meals she cooked and the way she brought people together with hearty food and plenty of room at the table. The concept focuses on classic Southern dishes served in a family-style format…
