AUSTIN, Texas — Central Texas briefly climbed above freezing Monday, allowing some ice on roadways to melt, but officials say dangerous driving conditions remain and are urging people to stay off the roads.
Drivers were seen slipping and sliding across the area on Monday, with some vehicles ending up in ditches. In one case, a truck had to be pushed by a police car as icy patches lingered.
