Dan’s Hamburgers, “an Austin tradition since 1973,” is preparing to close its location at 844 Airport Blvd temporarily for a major revamp and upgrade.
Actually, neither revamp nor even upgrade quite cuts it. According to the Austin Business Journal, that location will be demolished—and then rebuilt at double the square footage. It’s expected to close in the first week of April and undergo its rebirth over the course of 6 to 8 months.
The Business Journal coverage says that there is also a plan to do a total reboot for the Dan’s Hamburgers at 5602 N Lamar Blvd, but that those plans will be put off until the Airport Boulevard rebuild is complete…
