Men face higher heart attack risk at younger ages: Study

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The differences in heart attack risk between men and women emerge at age 35, with men developing cardiovascular disease at an earlier age than women, according to new study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association.

For a closer look at the research, KXAN anchor Sally Hernandez sat down with cardiologist Dr. Rohan Bhandari of the Heart Hospital of Austin, which is part of the St. David’s HealthCare system.

Bhandari: “From that study, the main finding was that men on average develop cardiovascular disease seven to 10 years earlier than women. And that difference is a mid thirties.”…
