San Antonio police, Bexar Sheriff’s Office increase patrols after Austin shooting, Iran conflict

The San Antonio Police Department and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office have increased patrols across the region amid heightened security concerns following escalating violence overseas and a deadly mass shooting in Austin.

Officials say the stepped-up presence is precautionary, aimed at reassuring the public and deterring potential threats.

SAPD, in a statement on Wednesday, said the move comes “in light of recent events in Iran and the tragic shooting in Austin, Officers have stepped up patrol-by’s at places of worship, schools, and other high-traffic venues, including amusement parks.”…
