All lanes of northbound I-35 near Slaughter Lane reopened following crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — All lanes of northbound Interstate 35 before Slaughter Lane were reopened after being closed Friday morning following a crash.

According to Austin Police, traffic was diverted from the interstate’s main lanes to the service road at Onion Creek Parkway, which is at Exit 226. At the time, heavy delays were expected, and drivers were told to use an alternate route for the Friday morning commute.

At the scene, KXAN photojournalist Todd Bailey saw that two semi-trucks were involved in the crash. The crash resulted in a spill that required cleanup.

At 9 a.m., crews remained at the scene, working to clear the northbound lanes. Both semi-trucks involved were also on tow trucks and ready to be moved…
