AUSTIN (KXAN) — Dating in 2026 can be rough. Or should we say “ruff.” A new Austin-based dating app is for the dogs. It came from the idea of a bond that dog owners share with their furry family members.
“Nuzzl” is a brand-new dating app that might have people wagging their tails to check it out.
It’s estimated 70% of Austinites own a dog. That’s something Nuzzl creator and founder Ninis Samuel had in mind when he launched another app several years ago in Austin, on an easy way to find dog-friendly spots around town.

Samuel explained there was an unintended consequence of that app — people using it to meet up and find love connections. Fast forward to now, and the idea behind Nuzzl became a reality…
