Humidity returns on Monday, storm chances Tuesday

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Sunday will take it down a notch after Saturday really upped the ante, but now we look ahead to Tuesday for our next chance of storms, some of which could be severe.

Sunday

Today has a few spotty showers and storms swinging by with a chance early in the day, and again as we get into the afternoon. There doesn’t look to be any massive chance of severe weather for the day today, but as always, it’s best to stay weather aware.

As for temperatures, we are only looking at a high of 70° in the downtown area, which puts us right at average for this time of year. Clouds and the showers we get today will keep us there.

Highs for today in the 70s for many

Monday

Monday will bring our temperatures back up one more time into the 80s. We have a bit less cloud coverage, helping us out with some areas seeing sunshine in the afternoon.

Highs for tomorrow creeping back up to the 80s

Rain chances are down to 20% for Monday, with a few pockets of isolated showers early in the day.

Tuesday and Wednesday

A slow-moving upper-level low, which is currently near the Baja Peninsula, will track northeast towards Texas on Monday into Tuesday.

This storm system will bring additional rain chances to Central Texas on Tuesday into Wednesday, with the Storm Prediction Center placing us in the “Slight” category or a 2 out of 5 risk.

Make sure you have a way to receive severe weather alerts…
