Gov. Abbott lays out proposed property tax plan at event in Manor

MANOR, Texas — Gov. Greg Abbott continued his tour of the state on Tuesday as he held an event in Manor to discuss his five-point plan to overhaul the state’s property tax system.

Abbott was joined at the event by State Rep. Stan Gerdes (R-Smithville), State Rep. Caroline Harris Davila (R-Round Rock) and Genevieve Collins, the state director for conservative advocacy group Americans for Prosperity.

“We’ve come together because property taxes remain one of the biggest burdens on Texas families,” Gerdes said. “They hit our homeowners, our seniors on fixed incomes, our farmers, ranchers and small businesses the hardest.”…
