Hollywood is once again in the process of taking over Central Texas as the biggest film and TV stars descend upon Austin for SXSW 2026. But that also means some suspicious people are roaming around the Capital City.
Emmy winner Keke Palmer (Nope, One of Them Days) was in Austin on Thursday, March 12, for the premiere of her new film I Love Boosters. Palmer and her co-stars Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Eiza Gonzalez, Poppy Liu and Demi Moore were back at the JW Marriott on Friday morning, March 13, for a live recording of Palmer’s podcast, Baby, this is Keke Palmer. However, before the event could get underway, the group received an awkward interruption.
A man sitting in the front row walked up, knelt in front of the stage and attempted to propose to Palmer. After initially asking if it was a prank, Palmer politely replied, “I can’t marry you, I don’t know you, I’m so sorry,” before her personal and SXSW security escorted the man out. Video of the incident was captured by TikTok user @aw_mc, where in the video the man can be seen saying “she wants it,” much to Palmer’s shock, before he’s taken out of the room…
