AUSTIN, Texas — An attorney for an Austin police officer charged with aggravated assault during the May 2020 George Floyd protests filed a motion Monday seeking dismissal of the case.
Attorney Doug O’Connell filed the motion on behalf of Officer Chance Bretches, alleging Travis County District Attorney José Garza’s office withheld evidence that it had considered indicting the City of Austin over APD’s use of less-lethal munitions during the protests.
