Four days after warning residents that water use was rising and threatening a city’s water supply, a major Central Texas lake has now lost all water flow due to a rising issue.
The City of Pflugerville alerted residents via social media around noon Tuesday, March 17, that water flow has totally stopped at Lake Pflugerville due to a fifth break identified in the city’s existing raw waterline. The news comes one week after Pflugerville installed a temporary bypass waterline in order to revive water flow at the 20-year-old lake.
“The construction crew and City staff are actively responding,” Pflugerville wrote on social media. “All City of Pflugerville water customers must increase their conservation efforts to reduce demand on the system. Failure to increase water conservation may lead to further water restrictions.”…
