Blue Bell continues free ice cream tour, heading to Central Texas

Blue Bell is assembling the team and taking its scoops to Austin and all around Central Texas, doling out the beloved creamy creations to fans who will probably line up twice, wearing disguises. The trucks won’t be roaming around your neighborhoods playing a jingle or anything; instead, they’ll be parked at various local grocery stores and markets.

The beloved Brenham creamery will be handing out free hand-dipped ice cream, frozen snacks and merchandise “to give back to the communities that have supported us for over 100 years.” So if you want more free ice cream from the truck than they’ve given you, feel free to guilt them by saying, “Hey I’ve been supporting you for over 100 years.” Might work if you’re old enough.

A list of the locations Blue Bell will be stopping at can be found here, in case you want to be a groupie and make the drive to get free ice cream at multiple stops during the week. In addition to Austin, they’ll be visiting Cedar Park, Lago Vista, University City, Buda, and Elgin, among others. They’ll be adding more dates and locations around Texas as well, which we’ll update when they’re released.

A tour usually means there’s something new to show us, and that’s no exception here. Blue Bell recently released their new protein ice cream, in case waiting in line is a tiring workout, and they also have a new Honey Vanilla flavor out as well…
