AUSTIN, Texas — Several people were evacuated early Tuesday after an apartment fire near the University of Texas at Austin campus.
First responders said the fire sparked at around 2:45 a.m. at The Mark Austin apartment complex, located at 812 W. 23rd St.
Once on scene, crews said that it took some time to locate the fire, which started in an eighth floor electrical room. Sprinklers turned on in the building, resulting in water and smoke damage to the complex…
