HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The Hays Consolidated Independent School District is proposing targeted cuts to help build back millions into its fund balance, the district announced Thursday morning.
The fund balance, which helps pay for operational costs and payroll, has depleted over the years as operating costs have increased.
“All of the cuts, no matter where they are, are going to impact services, and that is the part that is hard,” said Hays CISD spokesperson Tim Savoy.
