A slight change of plans for our “Streets of Old Austin” project.
Two weeks ago, inspired by a San Francisco Chronicle study of all 554 major streets in that city, we proposed something similar for the “From the Archives” column in the American-Statesman.
We launched our efforts by reviving extracts from some previous columns that dealt with how early streets in Austin earned their names. Today’s installment will continue in that vein, but with a split mission for the future…
