Austin police arrest man accused in $1.4M ‘pig butchering’ scam

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Taiwan-based courier accused of helping carry out a sophisticated “pig butchering” investment scam that defrauded an Austin victim of more than $1.4 million has been arrested, according to a Travis County arrest affidavit.

Tzu-Hung Hsu, 34, is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, a first-degree felony. He was taken into custody April 13 after investigators set up a sting operation at a South Austin bank, court records show.
