Route opens allowing non-stop travel between Austin, Dripping Springs

AUSTIN (KXAN) — If you travel frequently between downtown Austin and Dripping Springs, your commute just got faster.

The Oak Hill Parkway Project, managed by the Texas Department of Transportation, announced on social media on Friday that construction has ended on the westbound U.S. 290 mainlanes between Patton Ranch Road and just west of RM 1826.

Now, commuters will be able to have a straight shot from downtown Austin to Dripping Springs without stopping at a traffic light…
