HAYS COUNTY, Texas — A three-day traffic enforcement operation along FM 1626 in Hays County resulted in 233 traffic stops, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit partnered with the Hays County Constable’s Office Precinct 5 Motors Unit for the targeted operation, which ran along FM 1626 from Kyle to the Travis County line. Officials say the stretch of roadway has recorded a double-digit number of crashes and numerous reckless driving complaints since the start of 2026.
