Pflugerville man sentenced to 25 years for assaulting girlfriend outside of emergency room

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — A Pflugerville man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after a trial that exposed nearly three decades of criminal history, according to the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office.

Dale Bustamante, 51, was found guilty of assault family violence and possession of methamphetamine stemming from a Feb. 11, 2025, incident outside a Cedar Park emergency room. District Judge Sarah Moore handed down the sentence following the verdicts.

Cedar Park police responded to the parking lot of Baylor Scott & White Emergency Medical Center after a hospital employee reported witnessing a struggle in which one person grabbed another by the neck. Officers located Bustamante and his girlfriend in a vehicle behind a nearby La Quinta hotel. The woman told officers Bustamante had shoved her to the ground, grabbed her by the neck and struck her hard enough that she said she “saw stars.”…
