AUSTIN, Texas — Firefighters from Central Texas are among those battling wildfires across the Texas Panhandle.
On Monday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved a Fire Management Assistance Grant for the Stinky Fire in Potter County, which has burned more than 2,500 acres, prompted mandatory evacuations of approximately 540 homes and is 20% contained, Abbott’s office said. The grant makes Texas eligible for 75% federal reimbursement of eligible wildfire suppression costs.
