Bakersfield man charged in Taylor Street stabbing death set for competency hearing

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A Bakersfield man accused of stabbing 60-year-old Michael Gauthier to death on Taylor Street last month is scheduled to undergo a competency exam next month, court records show.

Jerome Andreas, 34, is set for the exam on June 30, 2026, according to the Kern County court website.
