Kern County coroner says July Hart Park drowning ruled as accident

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County coroner’s office has released new information about the man who drowned in a hart Park waterway in July.

The coroner’s office said that Mario Antonio Officer entered a body of water at Hart Park on the morning of July 16 and went unresponsive.

Law enforcement said Officer’s body was located by personnel with Kern County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team on July 17, where he was determined to be deceased.

Through a postmortem exam, the coroner’s office determined the 30-year-old Bakersfield resident’s death was due to drowning and was ruled as an accident…
